On an intuitive level my commission work tries to capture something of the customers journey to date and their unfolding story through abstract colour and shape. There is often something uniquely personal and significant for the customer in receiving their commission and I count that a real joy.”
Process & Prices
Consultation: Reach out via email to request a commissioned painting followed by an initial
phone conversation. This allows you to share your ideas, preferences, and any specific
elements you would like to include in the painting.
Commission Agreement Form: Jon will compile the gathered information into a commission
agreement document, which will provide a clear outline for the painting, a timeline and deposit
details.
Deposit & Payment: Once you approve the proposal, a 50% deposit will be required to secure
your commission. The remaining payment is received on completion of the commission.
However, if the customer would prefer to break down the remaining payment through monthly
instalments - please mention this to Jon - he will work with you.
Creation: Jon will begin working on your painting. As the painting develops he will bring you
into the process (if requested).
Final Review: Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to review the painting. If any
minor adjustments are needed, Jon is happy to discuss them.
Delivery: After final approval, your custom painting will be prepared for delivery. You will
receive details related to shipping for your new artwork.
PRICING
Pricing varies based on the size and materials used for your commission, but here are some estimates to give you an idea. Factors that influence pricing include:
Size of the painting - Jon’s commissions are based on the average price by size plus a 10% commission fee.
For Example:
Small Painting - 30 x 30cm £800 (+10%) = £880
Medium Painting - 50 x 50cm £1500 (+10%) = £1650
Medium - Large Painting - 80 x 80 cm £ 2000 (+33%) = £2200
Large Painting - 100 x 100cm £2400 (+10%) = £2640
XL Painting - 100 x 120cm £3000 (+10%) = £3300
Commissions are painted onto stretched canvas and use a variety of mixed media paint including but not necessarily used in all paintings: oils, acrylics, oil sticks, charcoal, pencil &when discussed Gold Leaf.
Postage and Packaging is included in the price for paintings that are in the Medium - Large, Large & XL sizes.
Framing options: Jon is able to discuss this with you but most customers choose to find a framing solution locally once receiving the painting. Equally, customers sometimes feel the painting does not necessarily need to be framed.
